GMB Eagle 5K
Brian Carlson Memorial Run - Walk

Welcome to the GMB Eagle 5K Run-Walk event. The run will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 and will take place at the Hudsonville High School.

This year we would like to honor Brian Carlson, longtime Co-Race Director of the GMB Eagle 5K, by naming this race after him. Brian was tragically taken from us in a car accident last October. He was a dedicated runner extraordinaire. An avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. Brian enjoyed Camp up north and the memories made there with friends and family. His energy, unique sense of humor and enthusiasm for life was contagious and will continue to move on forever through those he came in contact with. Brian was the driving force behind the GMB Eagle 5K and will be greatly missed.

Rebecca CruttendenAlso, we are proud to have Rebecca Cruttenden as our guest speaker prior to the race. Rebecca is the founder and director of Team Orphans and the owner of Clara Cookies, a new protein cookie company in Rockford, MI. She is also a dedicated mom of three adopted children and a 6 time Ironman finisher. Back in 2003, Rebecca received a $10,000 adoption grant to help bring their three children home. In 2008, she decided to pay back the grant money with her first Ironman event. Not only did she accomplish her goal, but out of this experience grew a great passion. She has raised over $170,000 by competing in one Ironman every year, founding Team Orphans, directing the Cookie 5K each summer, and starting Clara Cookies which donates 100% of it's profits to her adoption grants.

Come out and hear Rebecca's story and see why she is so passionate about helping others and staying fit. The GMB Eagle 5K could just be the spark that sets your passion ablaze too.

...organized by the Hudsonville Athletic Boosters

Year after year, Hudsonville High School has provided its students an exciting and successful sports program that has received significant recognition throughout the community and state. Through excellence, competitiveness, and sportsmanship, this program well represents the entire community.

Each year, the Hudsonville Athletic Boosters seeks to supplement the athletics program with thousands of dollars through various fundraising activities, including the GMB Eagle 5K, whose proceeds will go to athletic scholarships. As an organization, we give six $1000 scholarships a year to outstanding student-athletes who are pursuing a college education. Over the past five years, we have given over $30,000.

The Athletic Boosters organization each year endeavors to supplement the program with thousands of dollars. As an organization, our goal is:

"to promote an interest in sports among the parents of the athletes, students, business community and general citizenry of the Hudsonville School District; to assist the coaching staff in securing better equipment, medical services, and adequate playing facilities; and to promote interest and opportunities in sports activities at Hudsonville High school".

See you there!
